Hi! I'm Jip

I discovered HTML more than 25 years ago, and it quickly became the foundation of my career. Over the past 18 years, I worked at a major Dutch insurance company, eventually becoming front-end lead. No matter my role in IT, HTML, CSS and JavaScript have always been the common thread.

Early Career

Coming from a completely different background, working as a psychiatric nurse, I bring psychology, communication skills, and a lot of extra insights not typically found in everyday developers.
I started my IT journey on the helpdesk, then worked as a packaging engineer, incident coordinator, application manager, developer, and user experience designer, before finally turning my passion into a career as a front-end developer.

Family & Life

Meanwhile, I met and married my lovely wife, and together we have two children who have grown into the amazing adults they are today.
Recently, we decided to explore more of life, not necessarily in the country we were born in, so I left my long-term company and we are currently enjoying our new journey.

Looking Ahead

Even though I’m exploring new horizons, I realized that I do miss the work I love.
With my unique combination of IT experience, front-end expertise, and a psychology-informed perspective, I’m now open for new opportunities as a front-end developer. Feel free to get in touch!
